On the canvas of humanity one certainly needs a large brush to deal with the spoiling effect of sin on the image of both men and woman.
In the beautiful picture displayed for us in the book of Genesis of the creation of Man created in the image of his Creator, we have the image spoiled by the entrance of sin.
When I paint and complete a watercolour scene and sign it with my name, I have no desire to spoil the image created by accidentally dropping a splash of dark colour in the centre of my work piece.
Sin spoils the image of us all, for all have sinned. Basic Biblical truth and totally sound theological reasoning. It makes more sense to believe the Bible than to believe the monkey and now the chicken theories concerning the creation of man propounded by sincere evolutionist experts many of who cannot even tell the right time!
In the Jordan Valley by the river among crowds of people the Lord Jesus Christ was presented to sinful humanity, “Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.” In Adam the image was lost, in Jesus the image is restored. Sin can be forgiven in, by and through our Lord Jesus Christ. He limits sin in its power and its scope in damaging and damning our lives. We as believers are fully pardoned, healed, restored and forgiven.
Our loving and sovereign Lord deals with sin by putting bounds to it. It is limited.
At times He uses sinful men as instruments for His own purposes, we see this fact clearly at Calvary at the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord of Glory also overrules evil for good for often He brings good out of evil.
Scripture is full of such accounts, as is experience of countless Christian believers of every age.
God Glorifies Himself in permitting evil and dealing and punishing it. That He does both is a simple historical and present day fact. That judgement and punishment follows sin is obvious, and the interval between sin and its punishment is frequently short.
The best time to repent of sin in the heart and get saved is right this moment. Today is the day of Salvation. Make this day a special and wonderful day of your own personal salvation.
