The Blood of Jesus Christ

Those groups of Christian believers, who believe and openly talk about and testify to the Power of the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ from an experimental personal point of view in their lives, often find themselves on the outer fringes of acceptance by the large vocal majority of people in these latter days.

The efficacy of the Precious Blood is derided and despised by so many and relegated to the trash bin of theology, as well passed any meaningful relevance for today's generations. Old fashioned and outdated, totally unnecessary for life in the enlightened days in which live.

However many a precious article has been thrown into the dustbin by men and women who are clearing out the old things in their homes to make way for the bright new shiny replacement. So the priceless antique of yesterday is replaced by the reasonable and adequate piece from Ikea for the modern home. If it is old, it is time to replace with new sounds 'with it talk' But is it always right, if a thing is precious it remains precious whatever age it may be.

What applies to furniture in the home equally applies to the furniture of the heart and mind. Values, qualities, principles remain precious what ever the date is on the calendar. We live in a throw away society but only a fool would throw away something personal, advantageous and precious.

Christian believers must hold fast to those truths that are precious and priceless. Need to be well-grounded and secure concerning the fundamental fact at the very centre of the Gospel, at the very centre of the Church of the first-born. The Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ was the purchase price of her redemption in general and the purchase price of each believer's eternal salvation in particular.

The Blood of Jesus Christ is:

1. Precious (1 Peter 1-19). It is precious in its Source; the Holy Body of Jesus yielded its life. " The Blood is the life". The fountain from where it came was His pierced, broken heart. His Blood is precious in its Flowings; the thorns, the nails, the spear; all opened this fountain of Blood. Freely and fully the Blood flowed for every sinner in the family of humanity. Above all it is precious in its Application. Sprinkled before the Throne of God it gives access; applied to the heart it heals and softens. Applied to the conscience, it cleanses from the guilt and power of sin.
2. Prevailing. They overcame by the Blood of the Lamb. (Revelation 12-11). Satan is vanquished and Sin is conquered. The Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ is the ground of His Heavenly Intercession, and gives His prayer prevailing power; for by His own Blood He entered into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Hebrews 9-12).
3. Purifying. It cleanses from all sin. (1John 1-7). It purges the conscience from dead works to serve the Living God (Hebrews 9-14). From all defilement.
4. Purchasing. It is the price of Redemption to those redeemed, (bought again) with the precious Blood of Jesus Christ, as a lamb without blemish and without spot (1 Peter 1-19). The Church of the First-born was saved by the Blood of the Paschal Lamb, and the antitype is the Church which He has purchased with His own Blood. (Acts20-28).
5. Pardoning. Forgiveness is the direct result of Redemption. "In whom we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace" (Ephesians1-7). Without shedding of Blood is no remission. (Hebrews 9-22); But the Blood of Jesus Christ so completely removes sins from those who believe He died for them, that they are aware of the massive and abundant pardon received from Him
6. Peace Bringing. It makes Peace. (Colossians 1-20) Having made Peace through the Blood of His Cross by removing the cause of the variance and all that alienated us. Also importantly it speaks Peace (Hebrews12-24) as applied to the conscience.
7. Personal Promise. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. The Precious Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Hebrews 13-8).
