Ruth

But RUTH records the faith of one well pleasing in His sight.

And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God. (Ruth 1:16)

This beautiful book unfolds how faithfulness and obedience to counsel can enrich ones life. Ruth was a Moabite Gentile married to her Jewish husband Boaz through a remarkable series of events. Through their marriage her son Obed became the grandfather of David. Ruth and Boaz were ancestors of Jesus after the flesh. (Matthew 1: 5-16)
