INTO
ALL THE WORLD
The
heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness
thereof, thou hast founded them.
Psalm 89:11
And
Jesus said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every
creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that
believeth not shall be damned.
How can ordinary Christian believers in
a small Church fulfil that direct commission?
A
DESIGNER WORLD
In
the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis
1:1
Our understanding of the creation of
the world starts with a BOOK not a BANG!
In the Word of God the Bible we have
powerful and careful design and order. Not a confusing mass of chaos and
disorder.
We have seven days of creation not
seven thousand million years of evolution.
The
heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness
thereof, thou hast founded them. Psalm
89:11
Before
the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the
world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Psalm
90:2
The
LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength,
wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot
be moved. Psalm
93:1
He
hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their
heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning
to the end. Ecclesiastes
3:11
For
since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear,
neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him
that waiteth for him. Isaiah 64:4
He
hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom,
and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. Jeremiah 10:12
The World is His. He planned it. He created it. He designed it in colour.
The seasons and the climate, all sunshine and every drop of rain are part of the
ongoing plan. All His World. Some
things we understand and some things we do not understand. He always has the
controlling hand. Men do not fully understand nor do they have the controlling
hand.
A
DEDICATED WORLD
One absolute certainty we have as
Christian believers is the fact that the Lord created the world for His own
pleasure. It is part of the total of His joy and delight. Dedicated to His
delight. That knowledge alone lifts believers to a higher level of appreciation
in these matters.
He
delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs
of a man. Psalm 147:10.
For
the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with
salvation. Psalm
149: 4.
Thou
art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created
all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation
4:11.
Having
predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself,
according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his
grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have
redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches
of his grace;
Wherein
he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us
the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed
in himself: Ephesians 1: 5-9.
For
it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians
2: 13.
The Lord has pleasure in His created world. The Lord has pleasure in His
redeemed people. The pattern of Divine pleasure runs through His creation and
His redemption.
A
DEARLY LOVED WORLD
For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into
the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John
3: 16-17.
The
next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God,
which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1: 29
Our following Scripture is revelatory
Again,
the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the
kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them. Matthew
4: 8.
I
came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the
world, and go to the Father. John
16: 28.
That
it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my
mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the
foundation of the world. Matthew
13: 35.
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ knows
the secrets of the created universe He also knows the secrets of the world to
come. We rest in the strength of His knowledge. He is and has the answer to all
things.
A
DIRECTIVE FOR THE WORLD
For
what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew 16: 26.
And
Jesus said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every
creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that
believeth not shall be damned. Mark 16: 15-16.
But
God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God
hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are
mighty;
And
this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto
all nations; and then shall the end come. Matthew 24: 14.
So with reliance and resolve we dedicate our Hunslet Church Website to
the Lord.
