We Believe

The following is the doctrinal statement of The Fellowship of Evangelistic Ministries

ARTICLE ONE - The Bible
We believe in the divine, infallible inspiration of the Holy Bible (sixty six books) and its subsequent trustworthiness. There is a tendency today to eliminate the supernatural from the Word of God. It is our responsibility to preach the Word in its entirety and as the sole authority for all matters of Christian Faith, Doctrine and Practice.

ARTICLE TWO - The Godhead
We believe that there is only one True and Living God, who is infinitely perfect, the Creator and Governor of all things, who alone is the only proper object of religious worship. In the Godhead there are three persons, The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, undivided in essence and Coequal in power and duty.

ARTICLE THREE - The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in The Lord Jesus Christ, that He was eternally one with the Father, that He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin, Mary. He had two whole and perfect natures, that is to say the Godhead, and the Manhood are thus united in one person, very God and very Man, the God Man. We further believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that He truly and physically rose from the dead. He took His body, together with all things appertaining to the perfection of man's original nature, Wherewith He ascended into Heaven and is there engaged in making intercession for us.

ARTICLE FOUR - The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, proceeding from the Father and the Son, Who is of One Substance, Majesty and Glory with the Father and the Son, Very and Eternal God.

ARTICLE FIVE - The Sinfulness Of Mankind
We believe that our first parents being seduced by the subtlety and temptation of Satan fell from their original state of Holiness in which they were created, by eating the forbidden fruit. Original sin therefore is the corruption of the nature of every man that descends from the offspring of Adam, and of his own nature is inclined to evil continually. We therefore believe that every human being is a sinner by nature, by choice and by practice.

ARTICLE SIX - Salvation
We believe that a sinner is totally unable to save himself and is only saved by grace through repentance towards God, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This means that by His Sacrifice and death on the Cross, the Lord Jesus Christ made an atonement for all who savingly trust Him. We further affirm that the Justification of the sinner is only through the grace of God, by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, crucified and risen from the dead. This salvation is made real to the individual through the illuminating, regenerating, indwelling and sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.

ARTICLE SEVEN - The Lord's Supper and Baptism
We believe the Lord's Supper and Baptism by full immersion upon profession of faith are the two ordinances (not sacraments) that Jesus commanded His Church observe. As elsewhere stated, one must be saved to be part of the Church, so the ordinances are not necessary for salvation but are commanded to be performed after salvation.

ARTICLE EIGHT - The Return of The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will come again. That believers who are alive at His coming will not proceed those that are asleep in Christ Jesus, but that we shall be caught up with the risen saints to meet the Lord in the air, so that we shall ever be with the Lord.

ARTICLE NINE - The Eternal State and Final Judgement
We believe in the immortality of the soul and in the resurrection of the body and that there is a judgement to come at the end of the world. In the eternal happiness of the Redeemed in Heaven and of the endless, conscious punishment of the unsaved in Hell.

ARTICLE TEN - The Church
The Church is the Body of Christ, united in the Holy Spirit, consisting of those who have received Jesus Christ as Saviour (composed of 'born-again' believers). A local church is an autonomous organized assembly of believers united for the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission of Christ. We seek the unity of the Spirit with other Bible-based evangelical Christians, churches, and ministries even where we may not share non-essential (minor) doctrines. However we reject ecumenism or unity of any form with non-evangelical and un-Scriptural versions of Christianity. i.e.:
* those having a different doctrine of salvation
* those having a basis of doctrinal authority other than the Bible
* those who place an undue emphasis upon any particular spiritual gift.
