MESSIAH COMES

Down the echoing corridors of time, behold,
Through prophets lips, as message is foretold,
Messiah comes, all Israel's son's to bless,
To free them from the yoke that does oppress.

On Bethlehem's hills, some shepherds, sore amazed,
Heard the glad words, as angels anthems raised
Messiah comes, and to stable bare,
They hastened down and found the Infant there.

Wise men, wondering, as they journeyed far,
To find a King, whose herald was a star.
Messiah comes, how great must be this day,
They worshipped and went home 'a different way.'

Messiah comes and does He find a home
In people's hearts, or is it still 'no room'
He came to earth to die for all our sin,
And opened Heaven's Gate to let us in.

And when the fullness of God's time runs out,
We who believe will hear the gladsome shout,
Messiah comes, and we with Him shall reign,
He died, He lives, He comes, Oh Praise His Name.

And as the moments pass and years roll by,
The day of Jesus' Glory draws still nigh,
Messiah comes, be this our daily prayer,
Come quickly Lord, our hearts will we prepare.
