WATERCOLOUR CLASS

By Barbara Patterson

We all troop in with smiling faces,
Sit at tables in our places,
At the ready with our equipment,
Pencils, paper, brushes and paint,
After we have heard what Frank has to say,
We may paint a blue sky or a stormy grey,
Jars filled with clean water at the ready,
Painting begins now nice and steady,
A blue or grey wash starts to appear,
Now the waters not so clear.

Then I begin to look around
And guess what I found
I will have to make more effort I can see,
As they all draw better than me
Which helps the painting really fine,
Now I know what's matter with mine,
But I'm sure with Frank's tuition
I will get the right composition.

Some times Frank shows one or two tricks,
Out comes a card and with nifty flicks,
Lo and behold trunks appear on painted trees,
Must have a go at doing these.

We really enjoy our watercolour class,
Before we know it two hours have passed.
Must say no one seems to be in a rush,
To put away paints and brush.
The Friday classes will be ending soon,
Hip hip hurray there will be more in June.
