Lisa recalls the event
Patrick was most entertaining, walking on-stage with a box of Kleenex (for evacuation) and 3 bottles of Buxton water (for dehydration) and claiming he felt like a walking advert. He then posed fetchingly with the water bottle and then modelled the Kleenex box! Apparently having feared he was 'allergic to Derbyshire' it turned out he just had a cold ;)
The talk was supposed to last an hour with time for questions. After 75 minutes, he'd only just reached talking about his first visit to LA in 1963 with the RSC and he was still talking!!! Realising he'd completely overrun, he said he'd come back next year to finish the talk :D He gave a dramatic reading from 'Moby Dick', speeches from 'Twelfth Night', 'Winter's Tale', 'The Merchant of Venice' and 'Othello'. He then took some questions from the audience for about 15 minutes - only 2 Star Trek ones. He was doing a signing of books after his talk too.
Thanks Lisa! :)
