Sep 23rd Alan’s assistant, Melanie, confirmed last week that Alan will reprise his role as Severus Snape in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. He will join filming
on his return from Europe later this year. Also, Alan hopes to participate in the Patrick Doyle Concert, “An Evening at the Movies” at the Royal Albert Hall, London, on October 28th (subject to work commitments). The event is in aid of Leukaemia Research and is directed by actor Kenneth Branagh. Other stars due to attend include Judi Dench and Robbie Coltrane. Sep 1st According to FilmFour, Sweeney Todd could have its “gore-content” toned down prior to its release. Warner Bros have stepped up the scale of the release and want to make it more family friendly, imposing a PG-13 rating for the movie. Read more.

July 20th Alan is to star in Bottle Shock a movie about the birth of the Napa Valley wine industry in the 1970s. Filming begins next month in California. Read more. Also Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is in cinemas now. And Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final book in the series is released tomorrow.
Jul 5th The Search for John Gissing has been released on region free dvd. You can buy online here and view the director and writer of the movie, Mike Binder’s blog. And Gail has kindly let me share this photo of Alan she took after the Ground Beneath Her Feet narration at the Manchester International Festival last week. She described Alan as “extremely handsome”.

Jun 3rd Alan is to narrate The Ground Beneath Her Feet at the Manchester International Festival on June 29th 2007 at Bridgewater Hall. The production is based on the novel by Salman Rushdie and has been transformed into a full-length concert piece for orchestra, film, singers and narrator. Book your ticket here
May 25th Alan attended the Vogue party at the Skylon Restaurant at the Royal Festival Hall to celebrate the revamped Southbank. Also Perfume picked up 6 awards, including runner-up Best Film, best editing and best costume design, at Germany’s Lola awards- the countries equivalent to the Academy Awards. Read more.
