Wales has three of Britain's National Parks each with its own special features and distinctive character.

  • The Brecon Beacons National Park covers an area of 1,344 square kilometres of majestic rural countryside and mountains.

  • The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is the smallest National Park with 583 square kilometres consisting mainly of the protected coastline, wildlife, islands, coves, sandy beaches and historic castles all in the County of Pembrokeshire.

  • The Snowdonia National Park is the second largest National Park in Britain at 2,188 square kilometres, and is renown for Mount Snowdon.

  • Other locations are attached to the three areas above. For example, the Leynn Peninsula is listed under the Snowdon heading and Cardigan is listed under nearby Pembrokeshire, and New specific areas are being added to meet growing demands.
