Details on Fees for Slide Shows by Michael G Hardy |
General Information:
-
My object in
producing my Slide Shows is to interest people in the subject of Cathedral and
Church Architecture and to try and encourage an increased interest in this
wonderful part of our heritage that has been passed down to us over the last
1300 years.
-
I think it is
important to realise that churches were never private property, but provided for
all people. Even if many churches are not now used as much as they once
were, we surely owe it those previous generations who built and cared for our
churches, to care for them and pass them onto future generations.
-
If my audiences are
at all encouraged to visit the cathedral or any of the churches that I show
them, and look further for themselves, then it makes me feel that my shows are worthwhile.
-
I do not seek to
make any vast profits from my slide shows (indeed the costs and time taken in
compiling them ensures that would be very difficult).
-
However I do have to
make a charge to cover some of my costs and be able to continue to put together
more shows for the future.
My
Fees:
-
MY NORMAL FEE
for a slide show is £60 (Please also see Travelling Expenses below).
-
AVERAGE AUDIENCES
are around 80 people.
-
SMALL MEETINGS:
I realise that my normal fee can be a little out of reach for some small
organisations who do not have large attendances at their meetings (eg under 50).
Therefore I am happy to talk about a reduced fee for them, (particularly those
within reasonable travelling distance).
-
LARGE MEETINGS:
I would expect to charge large audiences (eg over 150) a slightly higher rate.
-
FUND-RAISING
MEETINGS: I have been involved in a number of fund-raising meetings,
when I am also willing to talk about a reduced fee (especially if the
fundraising is for church restoration).
Travelling:
-
TRAVELLING
EXPENSES are charged at 25p per mile.
-
TRAVEL LIMITS:
I have no set limit for travelling, but living near the centre of
Buckinghamshire, most of my audiences tend to be in the Home Counties to the north and
west of
London, but I have been asked to the Midlands on a number of occasions.
