Period 1940 to late 50s - steam / diesel transition - with some liberties, if earlier track plans are operationally interesting.

Multilevel is permissible. (Min El. 40" - Max El. 60").

Max grade 2.5 %

If helix (max 3.0% grade + helpers) is required, minimise time trains hidden.

Min Radius: Main 18": Branch 15": Yards 11".

Minimum aisle 36".

Use prototype track plans / pictures / photographs, where available.

Model prototype industries / buildings, where available.

Maximum visibility of all main lines, minimum hidden trackage (except staging).

Model all interchange lines.

All interchanges must lead to accessible staging areas.

Water Level route to have serial and parallel staging.

Water Level staging must feed either west or east entry, and enable reversal of direction.

Staging areas must have ability to change train consists.

CAD track planning.

Max 5-6 operators plus dispatcher.

Dispatcher using dispatcher board.

Use prototype timetables, where available.

Road Engineer physically moving in one direction when controlling train.

Plan for "operations" type operation - type as yet undecided.

Computerised freight car dispatching.

DCC walkaround control.

Water Level Route automated by DCC to simulate heavy traffic from staging.
