notes for the Job Cobleys :-

These should prove self explanatory. It is interesting to note that Job Cobley born 1
839, Wolvey, Warwickshire, Grandson of Job Cobley the younger, was a famous boxer in his time. Obviously inheriting the skill and strength from his Grandfather and through the blacksmiths trade, he fought with the bare knuckle boxer Bob Travers (The Black Wonder) for 3 hours and 27 minutes on August 19 1856, at Halfway House, England.
I am pleased to say that Job won the fight after 110 rounds! Quite what took him so long remains a mystery!
    (thanks Bob)
