The Hatchments
These are representations painted on canvas of the armorial
coats of the various families who have been Lords of the Manor,
or Squires.
- The Minshulls
- A medieval family, one of whom followed Richard The
Lionheart on the Third Crusade, hence the recurrence on
monuments of the star and crescent moon, and the Saladin
Crest.
- The Lakes
- Lord Lake of Delhi and Aston Clinton was an 18th Century
General who fought in North America and India.
- The Rothschilds
- The famous Jewish banking family whose country seats in
the area included a house in Aston Clinton and whose
guests, such as B. Disraeli and W.E. Gladstone attended
service in the Church.
