Notes: Digory OSBORNE
Digory OSBORNE lived in the Padstow area all his life. Five of his children died before him, icluding a young baby, a son who drowned in storms in Swansea Bay when he has 19, and a daughter aged 21- probably child-birth related. Her child was baptised on the same day as Digory's youngest son.
He described his occupation variously through his life - Farmer, Licensee and, later, Schoomaster.
The following are copies of newspapers advertisements relating to his licensed premises in Padstow. He appears to had interests in Taverns and Hotels from about 1816 until the late 1840s. The advertisements were identified using the Index of References to Licensed Premises held at the Courtney Library, Truro.
