BLUES ARTISTS:

Big Bill Morganfield (USA): Muddy Waters' son and his impeccably  tight band, winner of the WC Handy Award 2000 for 'Best New Artist'.  www.blindpigrecords.com

Hubert Sumlin (USA): A feast of Chicago and Delta Blues, Howlin' Wolf's acclaimed guitarist, Sumlin, who's new album was produced by Keith Richards and features, among other guests, Peter Green and Eric Clapton.

Guy Davis (USA):  Gravel-voiced acoustic blues matched with the velvet-smooth guitar playing lyrics, and the result is one of the most entertaining US bluesmen on the live circuit.  Add his huge talent as a raconteur and you have a really fine all-round entertainer.  Nominated in 2003 (for the 4th successive year) for a WC Handy Award.  New album 'Chocolate to the Bone' (Red House) scheduled for July release.  He's just recorded a track for Eric Bibb's next album.  June 2003: 19th Chichester - The Cider House @ Pumpbottom Farm, 20th Newport (IOW), 21st Aberdeen - The Lemon Tree.  Touring again in May 2004.

The Holmes Brothers (USA): Fabulous trio who bring a smile to everyone. "Who says the age of miracles is past?" The TimesNew album 'Speaking in Tongues' was Sunday Times Album of the Week.  www.concertedefforts.com

Back again in July 2003.

Popa Chubby (USA): Exciting, charismatic, guitarist (and band) playing driving, original, blues.  www.concertedefforts.com  Back for: The Borderline, London on Friday 27 June,  Blues on the Farm (Chichester) Saturday 28 June and special acoustic set on Sunday 29 June.

Odetta (USA): Arguably the greatest blues diva ever, Grammy-nominated album 'Blues Everywhere I Go' is a killer.  Touring with pianist.  Recognised as a major influence on Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, and Joan Baez.  UK dates being arranged for late November 2003   www.concertedefforts.com

Dino Baptiste (UK): This is a real show, it knocks spots off Jools Holland in every department.  Young, sexy, check out 'Two Timing Lover Boy'.  Piano-led R&B at its best.

Tom Ball & Kenny Sultan  (USA): Superb US acoustic blues duo.  Great fun and great players on harmonica & guitars.  In 2001 they celebrated 22 years work, and 8 albums of pleasure!  They'll be back for UK dates in November 2003. www.bassharp.com/tomball.htm

Chris Jagger  (UK): Mick's brother, Chris, writes better songs and fronts a hugely talented line-up featuring Charlie Hart, Malcolm Mortimer, Jim Mortimer, and Paul Emile,  playing Blues-Zydeco-Country as heard on his acclaimed album 'Channel Fever' - great fun!  Touring November 2003 with Ben Waters and Charlie Hart.

Big Jim Sullivan (UK): BJ is to electric guitar fans what Herbie Flowers is to bass players and Jim Keltner is to drummers - one of the unsung session musicians who has often turned a good album into an excellent one through superb musicianship.  Available with Duncan MacKenzie, and with band.  Big Jim is literally a man with a big, big reputation.

Michael Messer (UK): At last Britain has a 'new' blues guitarist to be proud of.  Michael's new album 'King Guitar' has topped the blues charts on both sides of the Atlantic and we're privileged to add Michael to our roster either in duo, trio, or band format.  Concerts and workshops available.

Dates: July Harrow Arts Festival,  Newcastle Festival.  November 15: St. Helens, The Citadel

The Campbell Brothers (USA): The are few things as uplifting as a gospel band in full voice and here we have 5 members of the same family blazing out songs of praise and glory as only a rock-tight US blues band can.  What makes this band extra special are the two pedal steel guitars which zip out the notes at breakneck speed.  Happy days ?  Oh Yes !!

Eliza Gilkyson (USA): Undertook her first tour of the UK and Ireland in May 2003 we just can't wait to see Eliza back over here in May 2004 because she's a stellar performer - right out of the top drawer..  Known for her incredibly sensitive songwriting which touches many personal chords, she's regularly featured on Bob Harris' Radio 2 show.  Touring with special guest Carol Laula.

Michele Greene:  After 5 hugely successful years in the TV series 'LA Law' Michele has returned to her first love, music.  Her album 'Oje de Tiburon' (Appleseed) was produced by the legendary Ciro Hurtado and is a real gem - a beautiful mix of Latin influences not unlike the best of Tish Hinojosa.
