Mothers
Union 2009
On
May 7th our Mothers’ Union along with Evening Mothers’ Union had
the pleasure of hosting the Wirral North Annual Mothers’ Union
Deanery Festival Eucharist. The Deanery M.U. were pleased to welcome
our Rector, Jane, who led the service, Bishop Keith, Bishop of
Birkenhead, who was the preacher and celebrant, Deanery Clergy
and Readers, M.U. Leaders and about 150 M.U. members.
Michael Jones was guest organist and he led us off to a rousing
start singing “We have a gospel to proclaim”, which set the seal
for the whole service proclaiming the love and bountiful goodness
of God. A blessed time for us all.
Refreshments were served after the service and everyone spoke
of their pleasure at being with us for the evening.
My special thanks to everyone - too many to mention by name -
who helped to make it such a happy time.
Just
two weeks later the M.U. Diocesan Festival was held in Chester
Cathedral. Another blessed service led by Rt. Revd Alan Chesters,
and with M.U. members taking part. Once again the cathedral sparkled
with colour as the banners were paraded before and after the service.
It is always good to meet so many old friends at these services.
We joined our friends from Greasby and Meols for lunch and a visit
to Grosvenor Garden Centre in the afternoon.
