Clathrate II crystal structure

Only the oxygen atoms are shown. This is the gas hydrate-II structure containing sixteen 5¹² cavities and eight larger 5¹²6⁴ cavities per cubic unit cell.

[Requires Chime plug-in] Twelve 5¹² and four 5¹²6⁴ cavities surrounding one other 5¹²6⁴ cavity (connected by orange bonds).

 

• Menu: Click (right) mouse button (Mac: hold down) for options; for example,; molecular rendering, stop spinning, retrieve coordinates (File Save Molecule As).
• Rotate: Drag (left) mouse button.
• Zoom: Drag (left ) mouse button + Shift.
• Pan: Drag (right) mouse button + Ctrl (Mac: + Command).
