The Structure of Ice-twelve (Ice XII) and Ice-fourteen (Ice XIV)

Ice-twelve (Ice XII) This structure (below) does not have the ordered protons shown. The protons are actually randomly oriented (obeying the 'ice' rules: two hydrogen atoms near each oxygen, one hydrogen atom on each O····O bond).

 

Ice-fourteen (Ice XIV) This structure (below) does have the ordered protons shown.

 

 

• Menu:Click (right) mouse button (Mac: hold down) for options; for example,  molecular rendering, stop spinning, retrieve coordinates (File Save Molecule As).
• Rotate: Drag (left) mouse button.
• Zoom: Drag (left ) mouse button + Shift.
• Pan: Drag (right) mouse button + Ctrl (Mac: + Command).

 

The Chime plug-in (3 MB) is available for Windows and Macintosh.
