Most people I meet say:"I don't like Punch and Judy!"and often with good reason. Not many people have seen a good show! But there are some shows out of the many around that are in a league of their own. And when you've seen one of these you've experienced something exhilarating, something that springs from a tradition of anarchistic disregard for convention. On one level it's a display of knockabout fun, but under the surface, cracking the paint and blistering the varnish there is a vigorous primal force laughing at the world, and at pretentious nonsense like this! You can't beat Punch! |

I'm proud to be part of Punch's tradition! |

I know the style of show that appeals to me, and I'm not telling you who my favourite performers are, but you might find some of them referred to on one of the following excellent sites:Punch PagePunch and Judy on the WebGlyn Edward's Punch Pitch

| With Su Eaton I busked with Punch for 11 seasons on Broadstairs beach. | |
I don't believe my own publicity, but you might! Here's some things that have been said of our particular rendition:"The best show I've seen for 25 years!"George Speaight, author of "A History of the English Puppet Theatre""A Magnificent show!Robert Leach, author of "Punch and Judy-it's History and Meaning" |

We don't perform P&J much these days as we were happiest with the show when we made our living with it on the beach, but we are sometimes persuaded to do it all again if the invitation is interesting enough!e-mail us on by clicking here |

It's not often Punch gets reviewed, so I was delighted to find this impression of my performance at the Puppeteers of America Festival in Seattle (1999) from Dianne Raines: |
"Next the very lively audience of puppeteers (and a few "civilians") was treated to a performance of Professor Martin Bridle's Punch and Judy Show. Martin is indisputably one of the world's best Punchmen, and his show is almost more delicious than chocolate! ......................I thought I would die laughing! " |

UNIQUE!Our family band play while Su single-handedly performs the extraordinary dance of human-sized Punch and Judy figures. |

I intend to greatly expand this
section at my leisure, as Punch lends himself to visual presentation,
and I have loads of great images in my collection.
