4. John BESSANT. Born on 12 Sep 1762 in Walton In Gordano. John died in Bedminster on 12 Nov 1837, he was 75. Occupation: Shipwright.

1841 Census 14 Orchard Sq. St. Mary Redcliffe.

On 23 Jul 1787 when John was 24, he married Isabella HODGES, in St. Marys Redcliff. Born in 1761. Isabella died in Bedminster on 17 Nov 1849, she was 88.

They had the following children:
14 i. John James (1788-1862)
ii. Elizabeth. Born in 1790. Elizabeth died in Redcliffe on 5 Jan 1847, she was 57.
15 iii. Augustus (1797-1885)
iv. Isabella. Born on 24 Feb 1799 in Chepstow.

On 22 Dec 1822 when Isabella was 23, she married Charles JONES, in St. Mary Redcliffe.
