Saturday 15th June 2002 - London Paddington to Swansea
A stunning rail tour! D1015 surprised everyone by showing that there is still more to come! Performance was as much improved over the previous tour as that was above the first. I am sure that as the drivers become more confident that this will become the norm.

Two
pictures of D1015 from the lineside by Steve Boon - on the left D1015
heading west in the morning and on the right, the train returning in the
evening, at Waltham St Lawrance.

away from the crew change at Bristol Parkway! (right) Approaching a signal check
at the Pilning end of the Severn Tunnel........
......and
then having a full power pull away into the tunnel!!

D1015 seen approaching Newport and then (right and below) leaving the tunnels in
a blast of glory!

Much to the photographers annoyance, 153327 on the 1320 to Shrewsbury was late
departing. (right) At last....! D1015 idling at Swansea.

what comes naturally at West Somerset Junction (Bristol, left) and leaving

A final bit of full power away from a signal check just past Airport Junction!!
(right) The effect of all that performance on D1015's paintwork!
D1015 stopped at Paddington after an excellent days running!
