V200 039 was built by Krauss Maffei and entered service in 1956. It was renumbered 220 039 in 1968 and was withdrawn from DB service on 31st October 1984. It was sold to Italian track maintenance company Cosfer, who sold it to Spanish track maintenance company COMSA in 1988. The locomotive was not converted to Iberian gauge and is still used as motive power for engineering trains on the standard gauge Spanish AVE lines, numbered 51L29042. This locomotive will be offered for sale to preservationists once COMSA have finished with it, which is expected to be in the middle of 2003. It is confirmed still fitted with MD650 engines.

the train is formed of "Silver Fish" while the green coach and van on the left,
behind the locomotive, are not for public use and will be shunted off the train
on arrival at Lübeck. This was not an unusual occurrence at the time and still
goes on today. [Keith Bullock]
