Daniel was almost certainly named in tribute to his uncle Daniel Watson brother-in law of his father.

The Birth of Elizabeth in Bramhope just to the north of Leeds seems to indicate that these were the first Rowings in Yorkshire. Why they were there is unknown. The visit was apparently short in duration since Daniel was born (1836) in Wendling and Maria was born (1841) in Scarning.

At the time of the 1851 Census the family lived in Church Gate Scarning.

By the 1961 Census, they were still in Scarning but had moved to Rosier Road.

The two eldest boys however, returned to the Leeds earlier after they had grown up. Of the others,  Daniel moved to Surrey the others remaining in Norfolk.

The oldest girl Mary was recorded in the 1861 census then aged 30 records Mary as a domestic servant to a William and Hannah Rushmore who kept a lodging house at York Terrace, Great Yarmouth. The 1871 Census records her  as an unmarried housekeeper In Yarmouth (St. Nicholas).

Maria was buried in East Dereham Cemetery on the 13th May 1875. Daniel was buried in the same cemetery and probably the same grave on the 10th. Jan 1880.
