The Aussie Rowings |

This gentleman first came to light in the 1841 Census return for East Dereham where he was a lodged he was then aged 24 and worked as a Wheeler.
He subsequently turns up on a list of unclaimed mail advertised in the Geelong Advertiser in 1845 |

It turns out that John Rowing was in fact John Rowing Watson who was the great grandfather of Bett Wills. He was the son of Elizabeth Rowing who was born in Middleton, Norfolk ,England in 1770 |

This lady was sentenced at the Old bailey to be transported to the colonies ) for 7 years in 1829. She arrived in Port Jackson N.S.W on the SS Roslyn Castle.
What became of her or who she was is unknown. I am not even sure whether she was related to us. |
