Son Roy met Doris at Nottingham Ice Stadium after he was demobbed from the RAF after his three years National Service. He went back to his previous job as a poster artist with The Gardner Poster Service , Halifax Place Nottingham . Doris worked as a ladies blouse machinist at Wardles on Castle Boulavard, Nottingham.

 

They had two children Gary (b. 1958) and Melanie (b. 1961).

 

Gary married Dianne Benser and has two children Sarah Felicity (b. 1984) and Dominic James (b, 1987)
