After Max died, I wanted to help another family but was advised against this action. Unlike the others, their tragedy was not related to cancer. This family lost their son in a tragic farm accident. His arm was ripped off in farm machinery and he died five days later. I vaguely knew the father and had drunk with him in the local Pub years ago.

I was going through a bad time but could not conceive of what this family was suffering. I suggested to my sister that I could provide solace if that was what was required. She advised not. She was right and I didn’t. I was barely keeping my own body and soul together. This is not a good time to help people in an even worse situation.
