Mexicolore has a considerable collection of unusual and unique teaching resources on the Aztecs built up as the result of over twelve years of educational work on Mexico in British schools.

There is no more exciting way of bringing the Aztecs to life (short of visiting Mexico!) than opening one of our 'Aztefacts' boxes with your class, and unwrapping a fascinating collection of up to fifty different items, including pottery figures, musical instruments, crafts, cooking tools, garments, household utensils, masks, even a replica screenfold codex, plus a wealth of background resources. Pretending the artefacts have lust arrived from Mexico is part of the fun - and in many cases quite true! Many of the artefacts are every-day items still in general use in Mexico, and little changed in hundreds of years. Handling them, describing them, drawing them, cataloguing them, identifying them in the ancient codices - the caseful (all 20 kilos of it!) has enough to keep your interest on a high for weeks...

Available nationwide, it costs £25 plus VAT, per week, to hire an Aztefacts box, plus a delivery/collection charge and a returnable deposit is required.
