Here are a few pictures I took whilst birding in Costa Rica. Apart from the American Painted Lady, I don't know what any of them are! ...but would be grateful to know. All were taken at La Selva (Caribbean lowland) apart from the American Painted Lady which was taken at Cerro de la Muerte in the highlands. Butterfly 2 was quite amazing in that it was completely transparent - unfortunately, due to the flash, this isn't really apparent in the picture - © Toby Austin (June 2003) Identification Thanks to many contributors on UK-Leps |
