Reception and Admin
Our Reception staff are here to help you with any of your queries. Please be aware that when booking appointments, you may be asked the reason for attending. This is to ensure your appointment is made with the most appropriate member of the clinical team. We also have a Medical Secretary and an Assistant Practice Manager who can help with any Practice issues or queries you may have.

Practice Nurses
Nurses are based at both surgeries. They are available by appointment for general nursing services, immunisations for travel and disease prevention, and cervical smears. All patients, especially those aged over 40, are encouraged to have a regular Well Person Check with the Practice Nurse.

    Diplomas in Asthma, COPD (Spirometry) & Diabetes
    All aspects of Treatment Room work.

  • Diana Yeoell
    All aspects of Treatment Room work especially Diabetes and Stop Smoking Clinics.

  • Averil Chadwick
    All aspects of Treatment Room work (except Baby Immunisations) especially Wound Care - Dressing Clinics.

  • Karen Whitehouse
    All aspects of Treatment Room work, especially Baby Immunisations. COPD and Spirometry

  • Gill Finch (Wanborough Surgery)
    Diploma in Asthma
    All aspects of Treatment Room work.

Dispensers
Both surgeries have fully equipped dispensaries and our dispensing staff are available to help you with any queries concerning your prescription or medication.

District Nurses
The District Nursing Team provide skilled nursing care, offer advice and support and promote good health practice to anyone requiring treatment at home.
They can be contacted from the nursing office on Marlborough (01672) 512832 between 0900hrs and 1700hrs or via Reception at either Surgery.

Health Visitors
A Health Visitors team is attached to this Practice and can be contacted on Marlborough (01672) 520741 for health advice and support to families. Contacts can be made in the form of telephone calls, home visits, and child health clinics or by group attendance.

Midwife
We have midwives attached to both surgeries carrying out regular antenatal clinics. Appointments for the Ante Natal Clinic can be made at Reception. To contact the Midwife, please phone the Community Midwife Office on Swindon (01793) 604813 or the Maternity Unit at Great Western Hospital.

Counsellor/Psychologist
There is a counselling/psychology team attached to this Practice. Access to this service is by Doctor's referral. Patients are then invited to make their own appointment and are initially offered self-help, coping strategies and courses such as Stress Management. Further appointments are arranged as needed.

Social Worker
A Social Worker is attached to the Practice and attends the Ramsbury Surgery each week to provide assistance to the Practice's patients and their carers. Appointments to see the Social Worker can be made through the Ramsbury reception. The Social Worker usually visits the surgery on Wednesday afternoons.

Medical Students
As a teaching Practice, we regularly have Medical Students attached to the Practice and appreciate your co-operation in allowing them to be present at consultations. Patients will be advised of a student being present when arriving for their appointment; if you would prefer the student not to be present, please tell the Receptionist.
