Welcome to Inertia Reel's home page. We'd like to tell you something about the band and let you know how to contact us.
Inertia reel is an Ipswich, Suffolk based band providing music and calling for barn dances based on English and some American dances. We cater for all ages and levels of experience, with all the dances being explained in humorous style by our caller Mike Garland.
Although we tend to concentrate on the typical folk dances of squares, circles and the like the band likes all sorts of music, and has been known to go into some rock and roll at the end of the evening!!
Several of the band sing and any breaks in the dancing will be filled with a variety of tunes and songs.
All of the band have been playing in bands for many years - so we can mostly play anything if you can hum it!!
Bookings are taken by Cynthia Garland on 01473 728209. We are all based around Ipswich. In principle we go anywhere at any time but Saturday nights and the West Suffolk region are definitely preferred.

Mike Garland - Caller, guitar player and singer extraordinaire.
