Although progress seems to have been slow I have finally got MicksRedNova on the road. It passed the MoT in March 2009 and is now on the road attending KitCar shows around the country with Club Nova / Avante of which I am now Chairman.

There is still work to be done though. A new exhaust, fit the stereo, modify and cover the dashboard, trim the interior (and for this purpose I have bought 2 leather hides and a sewing machine, progress will be updated here), fit the water heater system and a host of other things before it finally gets a paint job.

The rear end got some filler and primer.

Then I polished it up to take the valuation photos for the Insurance.

The blue line is a piece of tape showing where I may cut the bonnet and make it hinge forward.

I fitted a reversing camera into the rear valence and fitted a 7 inch Lilliput TV/Monitor on the dash.

Finally, in Feb 2009, I submitted MicksRedNova for an MOT. It passed with flying colours and this is Joe, the MoT man, holding the pass certificate.

As I am now more involved in the Club Nova / Avante and regularly support the KitCar shows in the UK I decided to buy a small van.

The van is driven by my wife and carries club equipment, tools etc. and provides a convenient place to sleep.

So here is MicksRedNova at it's first show since being put on the road.

Detling 2009 in Kent over the Easter Bank Holiday.

Unfortunately the clutch was old and contaminated and failed soon after Detling. So the engine had to come out.

The pile of clutch-dust was causing the clutch to slip. A new clutch from GSF in Reading had the Nova back on the road.

This panoramic view shows MicksRedNova at the centre of a 9 car display at the Stoneleigh KitCar show 2009.
