Hi! If you've just begun to learn to ring...Welcome to the world of ringing! At first it may seem a little daunting with lots of complicated terms and words being thrown around, not to mention trying to remember to put your hands in the right place and the other 1001 things your instructor tells you do all at the same time! The good news is that it's not as complicated as it sounds!!!
This site can be used in many ways, and if you're new to ringing, some of the pages may seen like they're filled with gobble-de-gook!! However there are pages that you may want to check out...
If there aren't any young ringers at your tower, don't worry, they'll probably be other ringers your age at other towers in your area. Towers are divided into districts, which make up Guilds/Associations. All have regular meetings, and if you get the opportunity, try and go to one, as you can meet lots of other ringers from your area.
I hope you will find that ringing is an enjoyable and fun hobby to do, one which you will also find is quite unique.
It is a really good thing for other areas of your life too:
it can give you more confidence; and give you the ability to mix and talk with a wide range of different people, of all ages and from different backgrounds!
So stick at ringing, and remember, every ringer was a learner right at the beginning!!! :)
