CCD imaging

All these images were taken with a Starlight Express MX516 CCD camera

[Peltier cooled, 16 bit monochrome, 500x290 pixels]

The Double Cluster in Perseus

This was the first decent image I got. This was taken using a standard 50mm camera lens on the MX516, all attached to a fixed tripod

M42, The Great Nebula in Orion

4 x 20s (unguided) exposures through a 222mm (8.75 inch) Newtonian. Captured, stacked and processed with MX516 software Star 2000.

M42, The Great Nebula in Orion

This image was captured and processed in the same way as the previous one, except this is 17 x 20s exposures.
