SENIOR ATHLETES MEETING AUTUMN 2006

Held at Kings Head, Aylesbury 20.9.2006.
Present Nick Taylor, Heather, Mark& Lauren Fallaize, Rosanna Iannone, Dick Knowles, Dan Barber, Adam Johnson, Graham Gorman
Apologies: Andy Stephenson, Martyn Summerfield

Exec representative: Nick will carry on as chairman but as he hopes to be next head coach, this position is available.

Open track meeting: Repeat comments from last meeting. “ Why bother when there are plenty of good standard races at Watford.”

Target party race: Southern XC at Norfolk ( 27th January 2007 ) gaining favour over National at Sunderland ( March 10th 2007 ). Two reasons; Closer, less fixture congestion.

The main item was the future direction for the senior track and field.

Where we are now.

The senior men’s team was relegated from Division 1 to 2, narrowly escaping going down to division 3 . ( virtual no show at last fixture)

The senior women currently have no track and field team. Those who do, compete as second claim for Marshalls Milton Keynes.

After much discussion, the consensus seemed to be the following:
1) Men to remain in Southern League and this would be the priority.
2) Join a mixed League. London inter-club challenge was identified as the best candidate.
3) Remain as Vale of Aylesbury i.e. no mergers with Chiltern and Wycombe for track and field

AOB

X-trainer. Felt to be a good addition to the clubs equipment. Adam to evaluate and cost. Dick to produce a proposal.

Club Champs.

Proposal is that we use third Chiltern League match for a club championship. Prizes to be given on the day.

Meeting closed 21.38pm

Next meeting at the end of the Cross country season.
