Poet's Corner
Bette Compton
Poetess, Bette Compton, can often be seen taking in the awe inspiring view from the main street in the town where she lives, of the beautiful rolling hills in the near distance, where in the springtime the blue bonnets grow in abundance. This is just the idyllic setting she loves as she writes her wonderful poetry
One Rainy Day
By
Bette Compton
Pearls on the leaves of all the trees
Rivulets of water making miniature seas
Tempting puddles up to your knees
Spidery droplets on wings of bees
Rooster tails arcing behind each car
a pretty rainbow, not very far
The beauty found on a rainy day
Makes us happy, needless to say.
Firm and satiny
Cool and serene
Excellent spot
To build a dream-
