Have a Cuppa! with Mike
Sunday Dinner at the Bull Inn
By
Mike Coatesworth
My daughter, Lesley, and I entered the village of Gristhorpe near Filey with the intention of finding somewhere to have Sunday dinner. We had seen a sign advertising that the "Bull Inn" was serving a Sunday Roast. We found the "Bull Inn" and entered it with the least of difficulties. I found it fairly wheelchair friendly, and was immediately made welcome by the proprietor. The whole atmosphere was one of friendliness and we were at our ease almost instantaneously. After we had ordered a drink, we ordered our Sunday dinner, and while I was waiting, the landlord came over and made conversation and enquired in a very friendly manner if everything was satisfactory?
To which I replied that it was and thanked him.
I was surprised at the amount of food on the plate, as it was far more than I could eat. As I tucked in, I found that the whole meal of "Roast Lamb, Cabbage, Carrots, Leeks, Roast Potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding," were very delicious and one of the most tastiest meals that I have had in a long time, and apparently, all the vegetables are grown locally.
I was highly delighted with the service and the meal, and I would recommend anyone visiting the seaside coast of Filey, to visit the "Bull Inn in Gristhorpe."
Time for a cuppa!
