Garden By The Sea

There's a magical place where sea roses grow,
Cascading down the cliffs to the rocks below.
Wild flowers blooming on the ground,
The crashing surf makes a deafening sound.

There's a scent of honeysuckle in the air,
A seagull's cry is always there.
A breathtaking view, an artist's dream,
fills a poet's soul with words that gleam.

Cliffs so high you can touch the moon,
And far below secluded dune.
Sheltered by grass so tall
A place for lovers, a natural wall.

Take my hand and follow me
to a garden by the sea.
Stay with me throughout the night,
hold me close til dawn's first light.

Climb down with me to the beach,
The darkened trail can still be reached.
The path I know, it's deep inside,
Stay close to me, let me guide.

Walk with me along the sand,
Feel the softness of my hand.
Share the secrets in your soul
what's your passion, I want to know.

Lips as soft as sultry wine,
Two bodies touch and then entwine.
Hear the beat of an untamed heart,
Feel the throbbing begin to start.

Eyes lock in pools so deep,
Lips moving but cannot speak.
Two souls blend, two hearts surge,
Two bodies touch then joyfully merge.

They came together on God's green earth,
Nourished their souls, a time for rebirth.
When they awaken in the morning sun,
It's time to part, the night is done.

Take my hand and follow me
to my garden by the sea.
Stay with me throughout the night,
hold me close til dawn's first light.

When I awoke, I was alone,
There was no beach, I was at home.
It was only a dream created by me,
but I took you to my garden by the sea.

Life's Tapestry

Envision your life as a tapestry
woven with colored threads,
What memories will you depict
of the kind of life you've led?

What colors will you choose
to illustrate your life,
When woven into your soul
are threads of dark and light?

Will you weave threads of black
as a reminder of darker times,
But balance them with gold
to prove the sun still shines?

Will you weave an image
filled with strength and honesty,
using bold, bright colors
rather than weak or cowardly?

Will the background be soft and gentle
like a lovers waiting arms,
Or will it be cruel and harsh --
the choice is in your palm?

What are the shades of indifference
is that how you live your life,
or is it filled with passion
colored magnificent and bright?

The key to a beautiful tapestry
is a life filled with love;
No matter if dark or light
strength comes from above.

When you choose from life's basket
filled with millions of colored threads,
It's your choice to weave a tapestry
filled with pride or one of dread.

Let Their Childhood Last

Where are you going little girl
why are you moving so fast,
Do you really want to grow up
or let your childhood last.
Your sweet face painted into a mask
then dressed in the latest style,
Looking like a "little woman of the night"
who are you trying to beguile?
Bombarded by images of violence and sex
relationships misunderstood,
Why the surprise when children have children
when we push them into adulthood.
Little boys expected to "act like a man"
hold back their sadness and fear,
Why the shock when they take a gun
and shoot their bullets of tears?
There was a time not long ago
when a child could be a child,
Today their life moves too fast
no longer is it innocent or mild.
