My trip to Ripon
We both visited "Ripon" on "market day", and while we were there we took the opportunity to visit the old "workhouse" and the "police museum.”
Both Lesley and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Ripon, and as we entered the town square, the market was in full flow with crowds of people on the search for a bargain. After spending almost an hour going around the market, we decided to see what else the town had to offer. We were delighted on how the place was a well sign posted and within a few minutes we were outside the police museum.
We found that a lot of the exhibits were up on the first floor, and although the museum was not wheelchair friendly, with assistance I managed to get a look around the ground floor exhibits. We were not supposed to take pictures on the ground floor, but at the discretion of the curator, she allowed to take some pictures of the upstairs so that I could see them later and enjoy them at my leisure. It was while the lady was showing Lesley the way upstairs that I took out my trusty camera and managed to get some good shots of the ground floor area before she came back. Though I do think she realised that I had taken some, but she didn't say anything to me.
From the police museum, we went up the road to the workhouse museum. We were definitely told not to take any pictures, and so I asked if there was any for sale, to which I was informed that there weren't. So while I talked to the curator in one room, Lesley nipped into the other rooms and got some good shots from the small camera that I had lent her from my collection.
