Telephone answering machines and even worse,
automated telephone answering services (Don't they just seem to get worse and worse? You
should try the booking line for the London Eye!!!)
Music:
Musak, Plinky-plonky modern piano music,
Tchaikovsky, Wagner, "Easy listening" of any description.
Big Brother, Blind Date, Australian (and
other) Soaps, Anything with Jeremy Beadle in it or any programmes that rely for their
"entertainment value" on practical jokes or other ways of making people look
ridiculous or uncomfortable (especially when the victims collude in the trick).
