(the electric motor in the
foreground was fitted to enable the engine to be 'turned over'
as a moving exhibit but the worm-gear on the crankshaft was originally
provided to enable the engine to be turned over by hand for maintenance
purposes using a removeable component. The bracket which located
this component had at some time been broken off, presumably someone
forgot it was engaged and started the engine....
