Milton Keynes to Wales by Stagecoach

IMPORTANT CHANGES
Stagecoach are planning to significantly reduce the area covered by Explorer and Gold passes. The validities described here are expected to change. For more details and information about how to complain, click here

A Bus Ticket to South Wales

Not everybody will have the inclination to travel from Milton Keynes to Wales using regular service buses but if you have the patience and do not mind bus travel then this page illustrates just how far a Stagecoach Explorer or Goldrider ticket can take you.

The route is rather indirect because Stagecoach do not operate in all parts of the country. In particular they do not operate much in the Bristol area so it is necessary to detour north via Gloucester. Two possible routes are shown on this page - a relatively short route to Newport via Gloucester and a rather more ambitious route to Cardiff via Hereford.

Bus schedules may have changed since this page was researched so please check the times using the Stagecoach timetable library.

You Want to Come Back?

Explorer and Goldrider tickets purchased on the X5 can be used in South Wales but unfortunately Explorer & Goldrider tickets issued in other parts of the country are no longer accepted on the X5. Therefore, it will either be necessary to purchase a Goldrider ticket on the X5 which can be used for both the outward return journey or buy a Stagecoach Explorer in South Wales for most of the return journey but pay a single fare for the Oxford to Milton Keynes return leg.

Explorer Ticket Scratchcard - buy in advance and scratch off date of travel

Stagecoach X5 Goldrider - valid on all Stagecoach buses in southern England & Wales (subject to change). Buy on the X5.
