The M.N.A. Harwich & District was formed 3 years ago and has approx 130 full members. With many new members joining now on a regular basis as we become known throughout our area.The Branch meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 19.30hrs, in the

Harwich, Essex.

The clubhouse is a wooden building on a concrete barge and is boarded via a ships gangway which is very appropriate for our members. The official side of the meetings is kept as brief as possible to allow maximum time for socialising and reminicing. The Branch committee is very good at dealing with matters and presenting decisions to the members which are invariably accepted with little comment, we are (a very happy ship).

Our Branch's main aim at present, is to raise funds for a Merchant Navy Memorial within Harwich Harbour, and to this end the Branch applied for and was granted Charitable status.

We are well on our way to reach our financial target.
