My name is
Alastair Forbes, I am 37
years old, married to Babs and have two beautiful children aged 6 and 8. Being a
Forbes with Scottish
origins, I have an emblem which is a stag's head in a belt loop with the words
"Grace Me Guide" written around the top.
I was born in St Helena's Hospital in Seabrook, just outside of , Kent, England. The hospital was pulled down not long afterwards. 8-| I was brought up in Folkestone, a road called Marshall Street until 1981 when us as a family moved to Hythe. I lived there with my parents and brother and sister until my brother moved out in 1987, and I moved out in 1989.
I met my wife in 1995, started dating in April, and were married in August of the same year. The following year, my son was born, then two years later my daughter came along. We have found out that my son has Aspergers Syndrome, which is an Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
I have one brother and one sister. My brother (Duncan) is older than me, and my sister (Kathryn) is younger than me. Both have children of their own and at least one of their children each has Aspergers Syndrome.
I live in Hawkinge in Kent now, where I have lived since 1996, although we are looking to move to a larger property in the near future as my children are getting too old now to share a bedroom.
My hobbies are role-playing, reading, playing computer games, my children, writing.
My favourite music is basically Iron Maiden, but I also like some of Metallica, also Bonnie Tyler and Meatloaf.
Favourite films include Aliens, Star Wars, Saving Private Ryan, Tomb Raider 1 & 2, Lord Of The Rings Trilogy
Favourite books are Lord Of The Rings and anything by Greg Bear.
I have two computers, one which is constantly hooked up to the internet on broadband, and the second computer is the one that I use mostly, but unfortunately my processor has fried on that computer so that is out of action until I can get another processor for it which should be in the near future. At the moment, I tend to use my XBOX a lot more than I have before.
I am a member of the Father's Club in Hawkinge which is a club for the fathers and grandfathers of children and grandchildren with Aspergers Syndrome.
I also have a blog, which is like a diary that I update on a regular basis.
Well, that's basically me. I would appreciate it you could sign the guestbook on your way out, and thanks for stopping by.
