Morrowind: The Elder Scrolls III is a role playing game that is completely interactive. You can talk to anybody, you can take anything, you can read any book.

All books have a story in them that is between two and fifteen pages long. Some books will increase your skills and some are just there for amusement value.

There is one main quest to the game, and a lot of side quests. The game is open ended. Once you have completed the main quest, it doesn't mean that the game is over. You can elect to kill everyone in the world (if that is your choice) or you can go and do the side quests.

There are guilds to join, houses to work for, wars to fight. There is the Thieves guild, the Fighters Guild, the Mages Guild. When you advance far enough, you can become guild Master (or Mistress).

There are three great houses. House Hlaalu, House Redoran, and House Telvanni. When you have advanced far enough in the houses, you get your own Stronghold, then as you do more quests, you can increase the power of your stronghold.

There is the Temple where you can do quests for those as well. (Not sure if they involve killing or not as I haven't completed the first quest yet). When you join the temple, all the religious shrines are cheaper to use.

There is the Imperial Legion, where you can elect to become a soldier. Once you join the Legion, all of the Imperial Shrines are cheaper to use.

There is the Blades (a spy organisation) which you have no choice to join.  That is the main quest.  I'll not tell you about the main quest though, as it will give the plot away.

There is a huge array of monsters to kill, as well as slavers, bandits and thugs. You can create your own potions, spells and magical items. There is a huge group of character classes to choose from, as well as creating your own class.

There is an editor where you can change the game to how you like it. You can create your own race if you wish. There are a couple of expansion packs too called Tribunal, and Bloodmoon.

Well, I thoroughly enjoy the game. I hope I have given you enough information that if you don't play it, then why not? If you do play it, here are a few links.
