Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. A roleplaying game set in a land of Beastmen, Orcs, Mages, Priests who cast spells, many gods, an empire and lots more.
The fate of men, dwarves, elves, halflings and such are run by the Gods, or so some think. Others believe they control their own fate and that the Gods have nothing to do with it. The different lands are based loosely on our own world.

or as Robin Dew once said in an interview:
For readers who are not
familiar with Warhammer, the world is a kind of distorted version of the 'real
world', currently centred on Western Europe, but also including areas of Canada
and North America (Dark Elves), South America (Lustria - home of the Lizardmen)
and Central Europe (Chaos Dwarfs) and North Africa (Undead). Holding that
picture in mind, imagine the Reikland as on the border of France and Germany and
you won't be far wrong!
There are also many Gods in the Old World. Some are for Evil, some are for Good, some are for Chaos, and some are for Law. I have included a list of the Gods and Goddesses as well as a brief description of what each one represents.

As players we have visited a lot places across the Old World and beyond. By far the worst and most evil place that we have visited is a castle. It is called Drachenfels. The best way to describe Drachenfels is to say imagine your worst nightmare, one that you cannot wake from, one full of death, decay, horror - sheer terror then realising you are still awake - now times that by ten! When you go to Drachenfels you will not come out the same person, if you come out at all. Walls move; pictures live; chairs explode you; then if you have fallen comrades they come back and try to kill you. If you manage to get their bodies out, you have a limited amount of time to bury them in consecrated ground before they come back and attack you - with all of the abilities they had whilst they were still alive. Three words - it was hell! Our current characters have just returned from there after Wolfgang Himmler killed the Dark Enchanter (with help!) If you read about Wolfgang, you will understand what I mean. We were approached by a priestess of Verena, Erzbet, who went to Drachenfels previously and is now suffering the consequences for it. We were stopping there on the way to Tilea with an army to liberate the city of Miragleano from some Skanky Skaven Scum!
