Excellent site which brought back great memories of my youth in Morriston in the 60's. Remember drinking coffee in the Mayfair cafe on Saturday evenings and also the Regal cinema. Will return to explore the site more thoroughly another time. Keep ip the good work.

We were very interested in visiting your site after Carolyn's cousin Laurence Morrissey told us he had photographs on display. It is very interesting to see the changes that have happened to Morriston in your then and now segment.

I was born in Glantawe Street, I think 72, 73, or 75 (well, I was young at the time!)in 1951. My grandparents were Reg and Rebecca Jones and they had 4 children, Marcella, Douglas, Zena and Joe. Only Zena is still with us, but lots of cousins still live locally.

dear siri have lived in morriston for over 35 years and now live in the usa. what a relief it is not to have to walk in dog shit and spew from drunks the night before along the streets of morriston.woodfield stree is an armpit. it must be very difficult for you to find decent photographs to show of such a dump.

Hi, I am Maria and I will be visiting soon Your town.I am very interested in becoming a member so that I can practice and learn more about Photography.I am a student here in the USA, I just finished my first quarter of the year tuition I am taking, but I might spend a month in Wales, and would like to keep on learning. I am Peruvian and have been living in the states for 8 years, I would love though to move to Europe, actually the UK to be more specific , I admire your culture and beauty of the countries that belong to it." I love the pubs and the passion the guys have for Football ( soccer)"....

Treforys is not a welsh translation of Morriston (Morristown), the welsh name Tre-for-is (note spelling which then became Treforus) existed before the Morris family who without doupt were a major benifactor of the town arrived here. Tre-for-is was already hear as a small hamlet on the side of the then flooded valley. Town on the lower sea. Supported by Ynys Tawe, Ynys Forgan, (Ynys is Welsh for Island) Plasmarl (Promenade), Glandwr (Landore side on the water). Geologicaly the valley floor is well below the existing which became sillted as demonstrated by the shale at Ynys Forgan.
