Club member John Kavanagh has been awarded the 'Big Pit Special Award' for his photograph 'Dawn Patrol' which was accepted into the Welsh Salon of Photography
currently on display at Big Pit, Blaenavon.

ANNUAL EXHIBITION - 2009

We held our very successful Annual Exhibition over Easter week at St. David's Church in Morriston when we exhibited 80 framed prints from nearly all our members.

ANNUAL PRESENTATION DINNER - 2009

On Friday 30th January, we held our 2009 Annual Presentation Dinner at the Red Lion in Morriston, when presentations were made to the Print Photographer of the Year and the Slide Photographer of the Year (2008). We were fortunate to have as our guests for the evening, a very good friend of the Club, Les Loosemore ARPS,AWPF together with his wife Chris, to present the awards.
Les also very generously presented one of his stunning framed landscape photos as a raffle prize to raise funds for the club which was very gratefully received.

For the first time this year, we had joint winners of the Print Photographer of the Year award and the photograph on the left below, shows Kevin Walters being presented with his Print Photographer of the Year award from Les Loosemore, and the photograph on the right shows Ellis Rees receiving his award.

The photograph below shows the two Print award winners with the trophy, and Les Loosemore.

The Slide Photographer of the Year 2008 was Richard Robinson and the photograph below shows Richard being presented with his trophy by Les Loosemore.

CHAIRMAN'S AWARD

Each year our Chairman presents a discretionary award to a club member who has contributed significantly to the club or who has performed additional duties over and above what is expected of a member of Morriston Camera Club.
This year the award was presented to Kevin Walters and the photograph below shows him being presented with his award by Les Loosemore together with Club Chairman, Clive Edwards.

A surprise award was made this year to retiring Secretary Jeff Lang to thank him for his 15 years service as Secretary of Morriston Camera Club, and the photograph below shows Jeff receiving his special award from Les Loosemore.
