An Encounter With Lizzie

The images here have been enhanced to allow closer scrutiny of the photograph. Unfortunately, the age of the photograph and the nature of the original equipment means the photographic print is not of the same high quality afforded by current technology. Detail is missing in the dark shadowy area in the left of the picture and it has been impossible to recover that region.

The picture on the left has been artificially extended to give an indication of where 'Lizzie' was when she went under the surface. Note that the apparent 'lumps' on the surface of the water are not solid objects, but are the remaining wake of 'Lizzie' as she disappeared.

The skeptic might argue that the original photograph simply cropped off the object causing the wake on the left hand side. However, if there was an 'object' to the left of the picture, we would surely expect to see a greater degree of disturbance on the surface? Additionally we have to question: what sort of an object could leave a wake like this?

Interest in Lizzie has recently been growing with several claimed sightings over the summer of 1996/97. Below is an article from Lochaber News, July 1997.
