Life History
Thomas STIMPSON was born on 17-Jul-1823 at Frilford Berkshire, being the son of James STIMPSON (1778) and Elizabeth Angel.
At the age of 24 Thomas married Emma TRUMAN (1821) who was originally from Longworth. They spent all their life living in Frilford and had 6 children. Thomas worked as an Agricultural labourer and in later life also became a Local Methodist Preacher.
Thomas died while working in the harvest field in 1894 aged 71. His wife Emma outlived him and died in 1911 aged 90
In 1899 Thomas and Emma's eldest daughter, Elizabeth Ann Stimpson, committed suicide when she was aged 50, and details of this were reported in Jackson's Oxford Journal. (see below)
